Reporting to the General Manager, the Fiber Optic Splicing Manager is responsible to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and in compliance with the contracts, job cost estimates and all work is completed safely to acceptable standards of quality and workmanship. The Splicing Manager is also responsible for business development by securing new clients and identifying splicing opportunities throughout the US.

What You'll Do Here:  


  • Supervise and lead a team of forepersons and crews working towards business goals and objectives.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with sub-contractors.
  • Support Operations with day-to-day activities of the project(s).
  • Recommend best practices to complete tasks at hand in most cost effective and safe manner.
  • Manage overall team progression.
  • Liaise with clients to resolve and clear issues or problems daily.


  • Read and assess project plans.
  • Provide technical support to Business Development (BD) Leads, as directed, in the preparation of proposals, bids/tenders and PPT presentations.
  • Support and propose operational pricing for Request for Qualification (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) packages.
  • Participate in the preparation of the proposal and follow up with clients.

Business Development

  • Participate, as needed, in relationship-building opportunities, including conferences, boards and other offsite events.
  • Assist in the development of community relations. 
  • Contribute to business cases for investment and partnership.
  • Analyze and filter the potential opportunities for the best fit with divisional goals.
  • Negotiate with or assist in negotiations with the clients.
  • Provide advice, liaison, planning, etc. to prospective and current clients.
  • Establish and maintain effective contact with clients, including post award contact. 
  • Identify new work leads and manage lead follow-up.
  • Collect the execution performance feedback from customers for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Track and communicate what top competitors are achieving.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Must have previous Fiber Optic splicing experience. 
  • Commercial knowledge with solid understanding of risk mitigation in contract terms.
  • Previous experience with supervising or managing construction crews is a strong asset.
  • An initiative-taker, capable of working both independently and in a team environment, at times with little direction, and take discretionary initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Well organized, energetic, and able to work well under pressure.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Negotiating skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Suite. 
  • Able to perform in a demanding environment.
  • Adapt to continuously changing work tasks.
